SEND ALTERNATIVE PATHWAYS AT SPRINGDALES SCHOOL DUBAI - SAP
At Springdales, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive according to their unique strengths and abilities. To support students who find it challenging to cope with the demands of a traditional curriculum, we have introduced SEND Alternative Pathways—a program designed for learners aged 8 to 17 years.
The vision behind Alternative Pathways is to create an inclusive, supportive, and meaningful learning journey that equips students with skills essential for independence and future success. The program focuses on:
Functional Academics: building literacy and numeracy skills relevant to real-life contexts.
Financial Literacy: fostering an understanding of money management, budgeting, and responsible decision-making.
Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) – enhancing self-care, independence, and social responsibility.
Vocational and Life Skills Training – providing hands-on experiences in crafts, workplace readiness, and employability skills.
Entrepreneurship Opportunities – nurturing creativity, problem-solving, and enterprise through student-led initiatives.
A key feature of SEND Alternative Pathways is that it is not a stand-alone program. Students are given equitable opportunities to participate in mainstream school activities, ensuring they remain an integral part of the larger school community. Through assemblies, events, celebrations, and collaborative projects, our students experience meaningful inclusion while benefiting from personalized pathways tailored to their needs.
The soft launch of Alternative Pathways took place in April 2025, and the program has since grown into a full-fledged, successfully running venture. Today, it reflects our unwavering commitment to inclusive education, empowering students to gain confidence, discover their potential, and prepare for life beyond school.
