Springdales Score of 610 in PIRLS exceeds Dubai Average
What is PIRLS?
PIRLS stands for the Progress in International Reading Literacy Study. It is a global assessment that measures the reading and literacy skills of students. PIRLS was first launched in 2001 and is conducted every five years to track progress over time. Dubai participated in PIRLS for the first time in 2011 and most recently in 2021, making it their third participation. A total of 60 participants took part in PIRLS 2021, including 50 countries and 11 benchmarking participants.
In Dubai, more than 7,000 Grade 4 (Year 5) students participated in PIRLS. The assessment focuses on evaluating students’ ability to comprehend and derive meaning from various forms of written language, serving different purposes.
