AUTISM AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

Springdales School, in collaboration with the SAWA department, organised an Autism Awareness Campaign to foster understanding, empathy, and inclusivity within the school community. The campaign included a series of engaging activities aimed at raising awareness about autism spectrum disorders and promoting acceptance and support for individuals with autism.

Class teachers across various departments, including Secondary, Middle, Preparatory, and Foundation, were provided with informative PowerPoint presentations. These presentations included an awareness video about autism, offering valuable insights into the challenges and strengths of individuals on the autism spectrum.

INTERACTIVE ACTIVITIES: FOUNDATION DEPARTMENT

Students from the Foundation stage participated in a colouring activity featuring the puzzle piece, a symbol of autism awareness. This activity encouraged creativity while also facilitating discussions about the significance of the puzzle piece as a representation of autism.

PREPARATORY, MIDDLE, AND SECONDARY DEPARTMENTS:

Students from the Preparatory, Middle, and Secondary levels took part in a bracelet-making activity using different coloured papers. Each colour symbolised diversity and inclusion, reflecting the school's commitment to fostering a supportive environment for all students.

Throughout the campaign, students actively participated in various activities and engaged in discussions about autism. These conversations offered valuable opportunities for students to gain a deeper understanding of autism spectrum disorders and learn the importance of empathy and acceptance.
